Heritage Day - 5S were Switzerland for the day!

Friday the 19th of November is Heritage Day. Every year all the classes represent a country, and our country is Switzerland. We all have to dress up in the colour of the flag red and white. I am going to wear my school uniform and a masking tape cross along my red jumper.
We paraded in the playground with loads of adults taking pictures we felt like superstars!!! Stalls were set up for school and we were lucky to be able to get pizza from pizza hut!

We enjoyed the parade, and visiting the stalls afterwards. There were loads to see – henna, ice cream, milkshakes, cakes, samosas and a chocolate fountain!

Remembrance Day - 11th November

The Cenotaph is a war memorial in London.   It was built during the first World War to remember the people who fought and died in the war. Every year people from all over the UK and the world visit the Cenotaph to pay tribute and to hear these words:

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.

At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.
